Over the past 15 years since its establishment, Oxalis has grown from a team of fewer than 10 staff members into a workforce of nearly 500 individuals. This includes 200 full-time employees and more than 300 local staff working as porters, restaurant staff, and service personnel at camping accommodations. When it comes to Oxalis’ workforce, most customers and partners praise their professionalism, deep expertise, and welcoming, proactive attitude. Much of this resulted from the continuous dedication of Mr. Chau to share knowledge, unlock potential, and inspire his team to transform sustainable values into actions.

Extensive Expertise

With over 15 years of experience in establishing business models and extensive expertise in Marketing, Sales, and Operations Management, Mr. Nguyễn Châu Á possesses exceptional knowledge and experience. By combining his strong foundation in business administration and tourism with his ability to put ideas into action, he has developed highly effective business strategies, particularly in pioneering fields such as adventure tourism and community-based tourism. Currently, he is an influential entrepreneur contributing actively to tourism forums organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to promote Vietnam as a global destination. Additionally, he serves as a trusted strategic advisor to the Saigon Tourism Vocational College, the Quảng Bình Tourism Association, and the Quảng Bình Department of Tourism.

In addition to his vast experience and expertise in tourism management, Mr. Nguyễn Châu Á is also one of Vietnam’s first specialists in corporate social responsibility (CSR) auditing and reporting, with over 25 years of experience. He has successfully implemented and trained CSR auditing teams, notably at OneStep CSR Auditing Company, enhancing workplace efficiency through practical knowledge and sustainable development skills.

Professional Qualifications

Mr. Chau A graduated with a degree in International Tour Guiding from Saigon Tourism College (1996-1998) and obtained a certificate in Business Administration from Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (2001). He also participated in a course to become an ISO 9001 Quality Management System Auditor and was one of the first people in Vietnam and the world to hold the SA8000 Social Accountability Auditor certification, issued by the SAI in 2003.

Mr. Chau A was instrumental in developing and introducing cave exploration tourism to both domestic and international tourists from 2011. Previously, this activity was exclusively for caving experts. He was also the architect of the strategy to promote cave exploration tourism worldwide, particularly the exploration of Son Doong Cave, the world’s largest cave. Additionally, Mr. Chau A played a pivotal role in developing the climate-resilient tourism village model in Tan Hoa and was the primary author of the application for the UN Tourism award for “Best Tourism Village”.

With extensive experience and expertise in tourism, consulting, and auditing, Mr. Nguyen Chau A is a frequent speaker at national conferences organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. He is also a co-organizer of major tourism conferences such as the B2C tourism conference with Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism in April 2024 and the ESG in tourism conference in September 2024. He is also a consultant for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in organizing a Tourism-Cinema Promotion program in Hollywood (USA) in September 2024.
